In the previous part we discussed the process of confirming a booking. In this section we will go through what to expect and what is expected to make the night a blast with repeated bookings and referrals from the client.
1 – Fix Up and Look Sharp
Depending on the clients requirements, they will be expecting you to look your best. Often the client wants to “Show you off” and they will be looking their best and will want you be smartly dressed too.
2 – Aim to be 10 minutes early for your booking.
Punctuality is key in this industry and nothing ruins your chances more then being late! So aim to be 10 minutes early and if you get delayed by 5 minutes here and there you will still be on time. wants to.
3 – Hug them at the beginning of the booking
This Breaks down the physical barrier at the beginning of the booking, and makes the rest of the booking so much easier. It is also worth while telling them how delightful/good they look.
4 – Be polite and courteous
Chivalry may be dead, but remember they are in charge. Open doors for them, pull out their chair etc. Courtesy is still courtesy and manors costs nothing. Don’t take it too far, just be be a good, considerate gentleman who knows the pleasure of treating a client as such.
5 – Compliment them and others
When on a booking, say genuine compliments to them about clothes/smile/shoes etc. but also talk nicely about people that you and they interactive with like people that you’ve met throughout the night. Showing them you look on the positive side of things, will make them want to be with you more often and increase repeated bookings and referrals.
7 – Don’t dominate the conversation
Make the client feel flattered and special if you take the time to listen to them, ask them questions and draw them out.
8 – Put Away Your Phone
Checking your mobile phone during a booking is one of the quickest ways to make someone feel uncomfortable. Whether you’re taking a call or a text, using your phone sends the signal that you’re not interested in your booking. So put it away or switch it off.
9 – RELAX AND HAVE FUN
We have outlined a lot of do’s and don’ts but the main thing is to have fun, if you do the client will too! Before going out, spend a few minutes breathing to help relieve any pre-booking jitters. Breathe deeply and slowly, and concentrate only on your breath.
10 – Rebook and ask for referrals
Once the booking is finished and all gone well, don’t be afraid to suggest another booking or even if they know anyone else who might be interested in your services. Remember this is business and asking will not effect the bond you both have.
